BCM targets August to begin shipping production units of the RX67Q mATX motherboard featuring Intel Q67 Chipset and 2nd Generation Core family processors designed for Performance Driven Embedded Computing Systems |
Irvine, California, July 26, 2011 – BCM Advanced Research, an Associate member of the Intel® Embedded Alliance and a leading industrial motherboards & systems supplier, today announced it expects to make available production units of its RX67Q industrial Micro ATX motherboard by the end of August 2011. The RX67Q is designed for mainstream performance driven systems such as gaming, medical imaging or diagnostics, interactive Kiosks, high end digital signage, and complex surveillance applications. BCM expects allocation for the RX67Q to be tight initially but will free up by late September or early October as backorders are fulfilled and distributors begin to sock up.
Two-Chip Platform Supports 2nd Generation 32nm Intel® Core™ i7/i5/i3 Processors
The RX67Q is designed based on Intel’s two-chip platform – the Sandy Bridge. Its newest socket LGA1155 provides scalable performance by supporting the latest 2nd generation 32nm technology Intel® Core™ i7/i7 vPro/i5/i5 vPro/i3 processors with integrated graphics engine. When paired with the Intel® Q67 chipset, this desktop industrial motherboard delivers advanced data security features as well as the latest in remote manageability.
Rich Input/Output (I/O) and Expansion Interfaces
The RX67Q mATX industrial motherboard provides robust I/O technologies. The board supports dual display capabilities via onboard HDMI, DVI, and VGA outputs as well as an option for onboard LVDS for the OEM SKU for companies wishing to drive a small display such as oscilloscopes, test instruments, or medical devices. The board also supports multiple expansion slots including one PCI Express x16, one PCI Express x4, and two PCI slots for legacy support. The RX67Q also supports four COM ports, has dual Intel® Gigabit Ethernet, six SATA and 14 USB 2.0 ports. .
Data Security Features
The RX67Q industrial mATX offers hardware-based security, encryption, and signature key protection from software-based attacks through the onboard Trust Platform Module (TPM). TPM can help stop threats and protect critical information from being hacked or stolen. The board also protects sensitive data through built-in four SATAII (3 Gb/s) and two SATAIII (6 Gb/s) connectors with RAID 0, 1, 5, 10 configurations.
Designed to support both legacy and current peripheral technology
The Intel® Q67 chipset integrates several capabilities to provide flexibility for connecting multiple I/O devices. The Intel® Rapid Storage Technology enables the full Serial ATA (SATA) interface with speeds up to 6 Gb/s to support next generation Intel® Solid State Drives (SSDs) and traditional Hard Disk Drives (HDDs). The RX67Q supports multiple legacy connectivity options including PS/2 keyboard/mouse, RS232, PCI, and a parallel port.
BCM’s RX67Q industrial mATX motherboard is an ideal solution for performance driven applications in the embedded market segments such as gaming, medical, digital signage, surveillance, test and measurement instrumentation, retail and transaction terminals, analytical kiosks, and industrial automation and control.
