BCM Releases Intel® Atom™ N450 Ultra Low Power Nano ITX Motherboard designed for cost, space, and energy saving embedded computing |
BCM Advanced Research, an Associate member of the Intel® Embedded Alliance, a community of embedded developers and solution providers, is releasing the NX450N - a palm size industrial Nano ITX Motherboard for our select OEM customers that can support the minimum order requirements.
The NX450N is powered by the onboard Single-Core Intel® Atom™ N450 processor and Intel® ICH8M chipset. Based on 45nm process technology, the Intel® Atom™ N450 processor is part of the new generation of two-chip PCH architecture. It offers advanced power management functionalities and brings the memory controller and graphics cores onto the same die of the processor chip. The NX450N provides system developers with the ability to support slim housing designs due to its low power requirements and low heat generation with the possibility of fanless operation. The NX450 uses a 12V DC power input allowing the system integrator to further shrink the system size by using an external power adapter to taking full advantage of the NX450’s ultra small 4.7” x 4.7” Nano ITX form factor.
The NX450N supports multi-display devices via the 18-bit LVDS and VGA outputs. It also has a high definition Audio codec. The board also provides rich I/O interface including two SATA II ports, 2 COM ports, 4 USB 2.0, GPIO, a Gigabit Ethernet port, a Mini PCIe slot, and a Compact Flash socket.
The NX450N delivers enhanced processing power and 3D graphics/video streaming performance compared with the first generation Atom™ N270 processors. The NX450N is a perfect fit for a variety industries requiring low power and small footprint including digital signage systems, fitness equipment, space saving Point-of-Sale (POS), wall mount Kiosks, visitor tracking systems, mobile industrial controller boxes, and thin client or medical tablet computers.
