| BCM introduces its 18” Wide Screen and 15” Fanless Panel PCs utilizing the latest Intel® Atom™ Dual-Core D525 1.8 GHz Low-power processor supporting DDR3 up to 3 GB system memory |
BCM Advanced Research (BCM), an Intel® Embedded Alliance member, specializes in designing and manufacturing industrial motherboards and systems since 1990. We are proud to announce two new fanless Panel PCs based on the latest Intel® Atom™ family - D525 1.8 GHz Dual Core low-power processor and ICH8M Chipset incorporating the revolutionary two-chip architecture.
The Intel® Atom™ D525 processor was released in Q2 2010, and unlike the other Atom™ series, the D525 is the first Atom™ processor designed to support DDR3 SDRAM with up to 3 GB system memory and runs at a faster speed of 1.8 GHz while still maintaining the same low power consumption and attractive price point. The new two-chip architecture affords easier routing and better heat flow and reduces the package footprint on the BCM motherboard by 70-80 percent. BCM has capitalized on the Atom™D525 by creating a new line of all-in-one computers with both the 18 inch wide screen (PPC18W-525D) and the 15 inch (PPC15-525D) LCD monitor with optional resistive touch capability. Both products feature two Mini PCIe expansion slots and one Compact Flash socket; while supporting VGA as the secondary display. Both panel PCs run on 12V DC power with fanless operation and provide optional WiFi through an 802.11 Module.
