BCM introduces EMS-BYT, a rugged embedded industrial computer powered by Intel® Atom™ E3845 Quad Core processor featuring Fanless Operation and Extended Temperature
The Performance
The BCM EMS-BYT is a fanless rugged embedded system powered by Intel® Atom™ E3845 System-on-Chip (SoC) quad core processor, formerly codenamed “BayTrail-I.” The processor is based on the Intel® 22nm Silvermont microarchitecture providing outstanding performance while consuming low power. The key features include fanless operation, extended temperature (-40°C ~ 75°C) and flexible custom modular design.
Applications
The system passed a series of harsh testing including anti-vibration (continuous vibrations) of up to 5 Grms and anti-shock of up to 50 Grms. Its rugged and extended temperature design enables the system to operate in outdoor environments where variance in temperature is considerable and reliability is a must. Such applications include gas pumps, outdoor digital signages, parking lot self-serve ticket Kiosks and vending machines. The EMS-BYT is also an ideal solution for industrial control, industrial transportation, and factory automation applications.
Flexible I/O IET (Intelligent Expansion Technology) Expansion Modules
The EMS-BYT is a scalable, expandable, and a modularized rugged system allowing customers to select performance options according to their specific requirements. In addition, the EMS-BYT provides the flexibility of future I/O expansion and upgrades through Intelligent Expansion Technology (IET). The IET supports Multi-COM, Multi-LAN Bypass, Multi-LAN PoE, and Multi-COM Isolation modules by connecting the daughter board to SBC socket.
The IET expansion modules benefit customers and system integrators by reducing the engineering development process while speeding time to market.
User Friendly Design
Front access swappable 2.5” Drive Bay, SSD and SIM card slot, helps easy maintenance and user friendly upgradability. A service window is also available to easily access mSATA, Mini-PCIe and DRAM.
Mounting Capabilities
The EMS-BYT box computer provides various mounting capabilities including wall mount and 100x100/70x70mm VESA mount.
